POSITION SUMMARY: Serving patient food, maintaining cleanliness and organization of patient workstation.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Knowledge of patients diets and various tray line positions to ensure accurate meals to patients
• Operation of dish machine or pot washing station
• Break down and clean up after meals
• Maintain safe and sanitary conditions of tables, carts & equipment and service ware
• Demonstrates ability to comprehend and complete job assignments as assigned
• Uses all Personal Protective Equipment
• Utilizes equipment in performing job functions as per department safety procedures
• Reports unsafe, warring or damaged equipment
• Maintains workstation in a clean and orderly condition at all times
• Complies with Stony Brook Southampton Hospital Policies and Procedures

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to read and write simple English; Understand and follow verbal/written instructions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Standing majority of day
• Occasional heavy lifting when handling food
• Attention to detail
• Visual and auditory acuity
• Able to adjust to hot and cold temperatures

Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBSH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
