# Job Opportunity – Emergency Room Holding Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Patient ratio 1:4. Daily census approximately 32 patients across all age groups including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Highlights:

• ER Holding unit providing observation and transition care for diverse patient populations
• Experience Epic charting system (preferred)
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• First-time travelers welcome with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred

Requirements:

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Emergency Room experience required; ER Holding, Medical-Surgical, or Telemetry experience strongly preferred
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor)
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signature
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Central line and arterial line management
• Blood product administration and IV insulin protocols
• Care of ventilated patients and airway management
• Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Chest tube management and wound care
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs
• Community hospital, LTAC, and trauma center experience
