Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's healthcare facility. This is a 3-month contract assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Name: Medical Assistant

Job Type: Local Contract

Duration: 3-month Contract (Possibility of extension or conversion)

Pay rate: $20-$23/hr. On W2 (Pay rate is based on experience)

Schedule: Monday Friday, 8 AM 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all duties within the scope of Medical Assistant practice.
• Organize the clinical environment and provide support during patient care activities.
• Room patients according to established policies and procedures and prepare them for examination.
• Perform patient-oriented procedures and administer medications within Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• Administer non-intravenous medications as directed.
• Operate diagnostic equipment, including performing EKGs (without interpretation of results).
• Change wound dressings and obtain cultures.
• Collect specimens using noninvasive techniques and obtain blood specimens through venipuncture.
• Conduct quality control checks on clinical equipment.
• Accurately document patient care activities in the electronic medical record in a timely manner.
• Coordinate patient care in accordance with physician direction, company standards, and organizational policies.
• Organize, stock, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
• Adhere to standard infection control precautions and safety protocols.
• Conduct telephone and in-person patient intake, gathering information without exercising clinical judgment beyond scope of practice.
• Support and follow Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).
• Maintain patient confidentiality and treat all patients with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Current, Medical Assistant Certification/ Registration.
• Current, BLS Certification.
• Knowledge of ICD-10/ CPT coding preferred.
• Bilingual (English/ Spanish) preferred.
