Manufacturing Technician 1 (6:00am - 2:30pm Shift)

Position Overview: Velo’s 3D printers can build parts that are impossible for every other metalworking machine or technique in the world. As part of this cutting-edge technology, the components that form part of these machines must deliver high performance while maintaining reliability. As a manufacturing technician, you will work under the direction of process and manufacturing engineers to build and test one-of-a-kind system components for R&D and manufacturing teams. Shift Schedule & Location Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm with occasional overtime as required. Candidates must be able to work on-site in Fremont, CA for the first 6–8 months, after which the position will be based in Livermore, CA Travel Requirements Candidates will be required to travel approximately10–15% of the time, including trips of up to one week at a time, to support machine installations at various locations throughout the United States. Responsibilities Assemble critical system components, maintaining precision and high standards every time. Test system components for performance using advanced metrology equipment. Monitor material and parts with a keen eye for defects and non-conformance. Maintain organized and detailed testing records. Ensure adequate quantities of all necessary subcomponents and materials are available in inventory. Reliably escalatem problems and communicate suggestions for improvement. Work with manufacturing and shipping departments to send system components where they are needed. Work with print shop team to develop skills needed to operate systems Work with engineering to develop skills required for system bring up Qualifications Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel. Mechanical aptitude and at least three years of formal or informal hands-on experience with mechanical systems and components. Preference will be given to those possessing experience with metrology equipment or specialized machinery.
