Brilliant Management Resources has been engaged in the search for a Senior Accountant for one of our clients in the financial services industry, located in Downtown IL . The Senior Accountant will be responsible for analyzing financial statements, supporting annual audits, and assisting with the consolidation of foreign entities. Our client is looking to hire immediately and has opted to open this position on a contract-to-hire basis. Qualified candidates will be considered immediately and begin the interview process.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
2. Support financial, insurance, and retirement plan annual audits
3. Maintain and oversee general ledger
4. Aid in the development of the annual business plan
5. Create and analyze reports for upper management
6. Process journal entries and prepare account reconciliations
7. Assist with the consolidation of foreign entities
8. Investigate and resolve accounting issues
9. Assist with systems development and testing
10. Special projects and other accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications:

1. Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
2. 5+ years of related experience
3. Goal-oriented, good problem-solving skills, reliable
4. Advanced Excel skills
5. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is a must
6. SAP Concur - a plus (expense system)
