The Training Specialist, Mid designs and delivers end‑to‑end training programs that help users, support staff, and managers effectively adopt new systems, tools, and processes in a mission‑critical federal environment. The role conducts needs analyses, defines learning objectives, and develops blended curricula that combine instructor‑led sessions, virtual training, e‑learning, and performance support materials.
Key Responsibilities
Perform training needs analyses and define role‑based learning objectives for diverse user groups such as end users, help desk, and technical staff.
Design and develop blended training solutions including classroom/virtual courses, e‑learning modules, simulations, exercises, job aids, and quick‑reference guides.
Convert complex technical concepts, workflows, and compliance requirements into clear, practical examples, scenarios, and case studies aligned to real program use cases.
Create and maintain reusable templates, storyboards, and content standards to keep training consistent across courses, releases, and delivery channels.
Configure and use learning management systems (LMS) to manage curricula, enrollments, automated assignments, and completion tracking, and to produce training metrics for stakeholders.
Facilitate training events (in‑person and virtual), manage learner engagement and discussions, and adjust delivery based on participant feedback and real‑time observation.
Evaluate training effectiveness using assessments, surveys, on‑the‑job performance checks, and adoption indicators; recommend and implement content and delivery improvements.
Partner with product owners, system administrators, and project teams to keep training synchronized with system changes, agile releases, and deployment timelines.
Support change‑management activities by coordinating training schedules, communications, and readiness activities related to new system or process rollouts.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training, Human Resources, IT, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Typically 4–7 years of experience in technical training, instructional design, or training and development.
Demonstrated proficiency with instructional design methodologies and adult‑learning principles.
Experience designing, developing, and delivering training for technical systems or complex business processes.
Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in federal or other highly regulated environments, including alignment of training with policy and compliance requirements.
Experience partnering closely with IT, systems administrators, or product teams to support frequent releases or system enhancements.
