Operating Room Nurse - 12 Hour Nights

This position requires a shift of 12-hour nights, from Wednesday to Friday.

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse will provide care in a dynamic operating room environment. The nurse will have experience in all areas of the OR and will be cross-trained to Endoscopy. The typical workload includes managing various surgical cases except for open heart surgeries. The facility operates 11 rooms, with 8 dedicated to general OR suites and 3 to Endoscopy suites, supporting approximately 65 cases per day.

Responsibilities

• Administer care and support during surgical procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Handle diverse surgical specialties, including vascular (except open hearts), general surgery, ortho, neuro, eyes, and ENT.
• Participate in call rotation, which includes one weeknight call every four weeks and one weekend shift per three months.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active nursing license required.
• ACLS certification is mandatory for all staff due to modern sedation practices.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with Baxter pumps and DaVinci Robot is a significant advantage.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
