Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Creates beginning levels of design work floral arrangements and fills necessary merchandising needs. Assists customers with placing orders and completes the paperwork. Takes deliveries and makes delivery lists. Reporting relations include accountability to the District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home; Floral Department Manager. Positions that report to you: None. Primary duties and responsibilities include providing customer service, assisting customers, answering the telephone, preparing and replenishing product, ensuring a clean work area, running department registers, and adhering to company policies. Secondary duties and responsibilities include ordering product and supplies, pricing products, delivering orders, assisting in other areas of the store, and performing other job-related duties. Knowledge, skills, abilities, and worker characteristics include problem-solving, arithmetic calculations, filing, posting, mailing, copying data, interviewing, guiding people, and providing basic direction. Education and experience requirements include less than high school or six months or less of similar or related work experience. Physical requirements include medium work, visual requirements, and various physical activities. Working conditions include exposure to dirt, noise, equipment movement hazards, chemicals/solvents, electrical shock, and dampness. Equipment used includes computer, underwater cutter, wire cutter, pricing gun, dosetron, scissors, knives, pick machine, register system, helium tank, and telephone. Contacts include daily contact with the general public and customers, and weekly contact with suppliers/vendors. Confidentiality includes maintaining confidentiality on orders placed. The anticipated hourly starting wage for this position is $13.50 to $16.80 depending on experience. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
