Job Title: Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: EPIC experience required Proficient in IV starts Experience with telemetry Competency with ventilators Description: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse. This position requires a strong background in managing critically ill patients. The ideal candidate will have experience with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, COVID, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, and renal failure. Knowledge of specialized procedures, including continuous glucose monitoring and externalized IV pumps for COVID-positive patients, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in using the EPIC documentation system. Additionally, applicants must have experience in caring for ventilated patients and managing continuous IV sedation. Strong interpretation skills for dysrhythmias and the ability to manage patients with dysrhythmias are crucial. Interdisciplinary support will be available from various services, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The work environment includes innovative equipment such as NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pump, and GE cardiac monitors. Candidates should be prepared to float to different units as needed. References from previous employers in a managerial capacity are required for qualification.
