This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The nurse effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity; and maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and department strategic goals and objectives while supporting the company’s nursing philosophy. Sign on Availability We offer sign‑on bonuses for qualified candidates. Education Required: Registered nurse diploma. Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing. Work Experience Required: None. Certifications Required: Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal skills. Good organizational and time‑management skills and ability to be self‑directed. Ability to demonstrate good judgment. Job Duties Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care. Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families and other groups or disciplines. Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team. Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes. Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanations of services or procedures, requesting permissions, and communication style. Performs other related duties as required. Compliance & Physical Demands Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards. The employer maintains a Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including the immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical behavior, patient/employee safety, patient privacy, or other compliance‑related concerns. Physical demands include heavy work: exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly for moving objects. Duties involve exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue and the potential risk of exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste in a healthcare setting.
