Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 3x12 night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), 36 hours per week; 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period; floating required as needed; holiday coverage required

Highlights:

• Comprehensive cardiac telemetry unit with 44 beds and daily census of 41 patients
• Diverse patient population including post-cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, and complex cardiac conditions
• 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio with 24 hours of unit-specific orientation
• Epic charting system with full interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, and respiratory services
• Contract length flexible through February 27, 2027
• First-time travelers welcomed with appropriate cardiac experience

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience required
• Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, or Step-Down experience strongly preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Willingness to work holidays and provide weekend coverage
• Must be available for emergency response assignments during catastrophic events or disasters
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Limited time-off requests (maximum 7 days); no time off during first week or on holidays

Clinical Experience:

• Proficiency with cardiac drips, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and isolation precautions
• Experience with arterial lines, central line care, chest tubes, sheath removal, and wound care preferred
• Familiarity with specialized cardiac procedures including CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, Watchman procedures, and post-electrophysiology care
• Competency with equipment including Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, TR bands, and epicardial pacing wires

Patient Population:

• Adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, CHF, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, valvular disorders, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, and peripheral vascular disease
• Post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients
• Sheath management and removal following cardiac catheterization procedures
