Office of Legal & Acquisition Services The Office of Contracts and Acquisitions (OCA) is housed within the Office of Legal and Acquisition Services and provides expertise and authority for creating agreements, contracting, and overseeing the acquisition of goods and services for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS). Its mission is to maintain compliance with federal and state laws, rules, policies, and procedures, and to uphold public trust in the stewardship of taxpayer funds. Responsibilities Review, analyze, evaluate, and approve requests for acquisition of information technology (IT) hardware, software, education, consulting services, and maintenance for ODJFS, County Departments of Job and Family Services, Children Services Boards, and Child Support Enforcement Agencies. Provide IT procurement assistance for projects with multiple technical variables, such as multiple computing platforms, agency interfaces, conversion efforts, and new technologies. Analyze IT requests for merit, cost effectiveness, agency utilization, and alignment with the strategic plan to determine appropriate acquisition action. Review and approve requisitions in OhioBuys for IT-related purchases from Department of Administrative Services and ODJFS‑administered contracts. Research IT trends and innovations and advise leadership on leveraging them for operational improvements. Standard workdays are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Location: James A Rhodes State Officer Tower – 30 E. Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215. Occasional travel within the state of Ohio may be required. Eligibility Options Option 1 48 months experience in computer programming; and 24 months training or experience in computer systems analysis & design; and 6 months training or experience in computer hardware, software, and communication systems. Option 2 Completion of an undergraduate core program in computer science/data processing/engineering; and 24 months training or experience in multiple areas of data processing (e.g., systems analysis, systems design, application development & programming, networking, hardware/software evaluation). Option 3 18 months experience as an Information Technology Procurement Analyst (001) or 64171. Option 4 Equivalence to the minimum class qualifications listed above.
