License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Telemetry skills checklist Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. They focus on the prevention of illness and injury. Alleviation of suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses is imperative. Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is a key responsibility. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. This adherence includes regulations and ethical standards. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The RN serves as a primary nurse and is accountable when designated by unit assignment. Patient and family education in health promotion and disease management is essential. A working knowledge of pharmacology is utilized to safely administer medications. The RN shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. Compliance with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements is mandatory. Active participation in professional development and continuing nursing education is encouraged. Integration of nursing research and current evidence into practice is required. The RN provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Following organizational values is expected. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Required experience includes working in a cardiac telemetry department.
