Position Title: Office Assistant 2 (NY HELPS), Student Life Posting Number: C260062 Employer: State Salary Range: $42,641 FTE: 1.00 Position Summary: The Division of Student Life is accepting applications for an Office Assistant 2 position within Student Life Finance Office. This role supports the Finance office by handling day‑to‑day accounts payable functions while ensuring compliance with University, SUNY, and NYS policies and accounting standards. Responsibilities: Prepare and process operational purchasing requisitions. Process invoices. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely payments to vendors. The successful candidate is highly organized, has attention to detail, can accept and follow-through precisely on written and verbal direction, consistently use good judgement, proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Minimum Qualifications: This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). Non‑competitive (NY HELPS): One year of clerical experience. Competitive (NON‑NY HELPS): Transfer Eligibility Requirement: You must have a current permanent appointment with a minimum of 1 year of service in a position of the same title or transferable title. Reassignment Requirement: You must hold the same title at the University at Buffalo. Reinstatement Requirement: You must be a former state employee to request reinstatement to the title that was held (or transferable title). Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point) and the ability to learn large‑scale ERP systems. Attention to detail.
