Biomedical Equipment Technician 1

GE HealthCare seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to diagnose and repair medical equipment at healthcare facilities in Richmond, Virginia. The role involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer communication under supervision, with opportunities for skill development and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and perform repairs on biomedical equipment under supervision
• Execute preventive maintenance and safety/environmental inspections on hospital equipment
• Maintain customer communication and documentation of all repair actions and service reports
• Assist experienced technicians on complex repairs and support local team service delivery
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of tools, test equipment, and spare parts

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
• High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years equipment servicing experience (electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical)
• Strong analytical and technical communication skills
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs; frequent bending, climbing, and extended standing
• Good hand dexterity and color vision abilities
• Willingness to work rotating on-call schedules including weekends
• One year of related experience preferred

Compensation: $51,200-$76,800 annual base, plus performance-based incentive compensation and benefits
