Accounting Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a Accounting Specialist for a contract to hire/direct hire opportunity in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Accounting Specialist Responsibilities:

Carrying out administrative duties such as answering phone calls, greeting visitors, responding to emails (Outlook), and preparing documents (Word/PowerPoint).

Performing bookkeeping tasks such as receiving/printing vendor invoices (Outlook), matching vendor invoices to appropriate receiving documents, updating the status of materials received (QuickBooks), tracking project progression from proposal (Teams/Excel) through shipping, and other support as needed.

Entering accounts payable bills into QuickBooks once approved.

Reconciling company credit card statements and receipts for posting into QuickBooks.

Assisting with project job costing in Excel.

Updating proposals, purchase orders, and release logs regularly (Teams & Excel).

Maintaining general office files, including vendor files and other files related to the company's operations.

Purchasing office supplies.

Performing other relevant duties when needed.

Accounting Specialist Requirements:

High school diploma or some college in business, administration, or a related field.

1 year experience in entry-level accounting or higher.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).

Comfortable handling confidential information.

Multi-tasking and strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.


$20.00-24.00 per hour
