Position Overview As a Café Manager at Corner Market Café, you will lead daily café operations while creating a positive, upbeat, and guest-focused environment for both customers and team members. This position reports directly to the District Manager and requires a minimum commitment of 45 hours per week across six days. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for developing, coaching, and inspiring a high‑performing team while ensuring operational excellence, food quality, service standards, and financial performance. Successful Café Managers lead by example, bring strong energy to every shift, and create a culture built on teamwork, accountability, and great guest service. Key Responsibilities Create a welcoming, energetic, and guest-focused café environment every day Lead, coach, train, and develop team members to deliver outstanding service and operational excellence Build a positive team culture through recognition, communication, accountability, and support Recruit and retain friendly, service-oriented team members who align with company culture Oversee daily operations including scheduling, inventory, food safety, cash control, and labor management Maintain strong store standards for cleanliness, organization, speed, and product quality Monitor and manage controllable expenses including labor, waste, and shrink Support promotions, sales initiatives, and community engagement efforts with enthusiasm Complete administrative tasks, reporting, and documentation accurately and on time Model professionalism, positivity, urgency, and strong work ethic during every shift Jump into operational tasks as needed including cashiering, food preparation, guest service, and restocking Address employee or guest concerns professionally and in alignment with company policy Partner with the District Manager to achieve operational, financial, and customer service goals Perform additional duties as assigned Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred Must consent to a criminal background check and drug screening ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain) required Success Factors (What Makes Someone Great in This Role) Bring positive energy, professionalism, and strong leadership every shift Inspire and motivate team members in a fast-paced environment Naturally build relationships with guests and employees Communicate clearly, confidently, and respectfully Lead with urgency while staying calm under pressure Hold themselves and others accountable to high standards Demonstrate strong organization, multitasking, and decision-making skills Take pride in delivering consistent quality, cleanliness, and guest experience Create a supportive, fun, and high-performing team environment Stay open to feedback, coaching, and continuous improvement Physical Demands Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly Manual dexterity and the ability to use kitchen equipment safely Ability to work safely with chemicals and equipment Ability to perform repeated actions for extended periods Ability to bend, lift, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods Ability to stand for long periods in a fast-paced environment Maintain a positive and professional work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes strong working relationships with customers, coworkers, management, and vendors.
