Position Summary

The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems supporting power generation, utility, industrial, or infrastructure facilities. The engineer will ensure systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable engineering standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modify instrumentation and control systems for industrial and power generation facilities.
• Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, system descriptions, and design packages.
• Support Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and plant control networks.
• Review and approve vendor drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documents.
• Develop, verify, validate, and test control logic and automation solutions.
• Support plant upgrades, modernization initiatives, and digital control system implementations.
• Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for instrumentation and control system issues.
• Participate in commissioning, startup, and field testing activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, civil, operations, maintenance, and project management teams.
• Support cybersecurity and configuration management requirements for control systems.
• Develop technical reports, engineering studies, and recommendations.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering.
• Experience supporting power generation, utility, industrial manufacturing, process plants, or infrastructure facilities.
• Experience with plant control systems and field instrumentation.
