Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant The Staff Accountant will support our finance team by managing daily accounting tasks, facilitating a smooth monthly financial close, and quarterly / annual compliance reporting. You will be part of a team working to maintain order and transparency for the company's finances. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail. Essential Duties And Responsibilities General Ledger & Journal Entries: Assist with the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate records and reports. Ensure invoices are accurately coded by location and department, ensuring compliance with internal policies and budget allocations. Account Reconciliations: Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Accounts Receivable: Analyze monthly AR reports and determine appropriateness for allowance for doubtful accounts. Accounts Payable: Analyze monthly AP reports and partner with AP team to ensure that expense accruals, prepaid expenses, and corporate credit card transactions are appropriately recorded. Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and company's internal policies. Maintain accounting schedules aligned to current ASC principles for lease accounting, inventory reserves, etc. Collaboration: Work closely with other finance team members to identify and resolve discrepancies ahead of management month-end results reviews. Process: Assist in development and implementation of new technologies, procedures, and features to enhance workflow, updating business standard work and process flow documents as necessary. Support: Audit preparation and coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors where necessary. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting. Proven experience as a staff accountant with 3 to 5 years of experience. Attention to detail and strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity. Ability to work independently, organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Easily understand and adapt to new technology Highest ethical standards Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. Microsoft Business Central). Knowledge of reporting tools such as Data Rails and Power BI a plus. Qualifications (CPA or CMA) are a plus.
