Overview Physician Administrator 2 (Medical) role at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC). What You’ll Do Work collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system Conduct exams, and write evaluations and reports Order and interpret diagnostic testing Manage medication Complete reclassifications and other reviews as indicated Make referrals for specialized care or treatment Perform duties in accordance with scope of practice; ODRC policies, procedures, protocols; and related American Correctional Association standards Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews Provide or share responsibilities of off-site 24-hour emergency telephone call coverage as needed (provision of on-call services are included as part of the normal job duties and do not garner extra compensation) Engage in collaborative agreements, as needed Chief Medical Officer Duties Determining the need for specialty consults Attending professional meetings Managing on-call schedule Providing clinical supervision of all providers, ensuring that care is provided in accordance with ODRC policy and procedure and meets community standards Qualifications and Requirements Board-eligible or board-certified in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine to provide primary care services in correctional facilities Minimum 2 shifts per week; full-time/part-time options dependent on operational need Certificate to practice medicine in the state of Ohio as issued by the State Medical Board pursuant to Section 4731.14 & 4731.281 of Revised Code Benefits DEA fee eligibility for waiver if prescribing only for government entities Malpractice indemnification, as outlined in Section 9.87 of the Ohio Revised Code Opportunities to apply for student loan repayment/forgiveness via federal, state, and/or agency programs Location & Schedule Primary Location: United States of America-OHIO Other Locations: United States of America-OHIO-Ross County-Chillicothe; United States of America-OHIO-Madison County-London; United States of America-OHIO-Lorain County-Elyria; United States of America-OHIO-Franklin County-Columbus; United States of America-OHIO-Trumbull County-Leavittsburg; United States of America-OHIO-Belmont County-Bellaire; United States of America-OHIO-Lucas County-Toledo; United States of America-OHIO-Richland County-Mansfield; United States of America-OHIO-Pickaway County-Circleville; United States of America-OHIO-Allen County-Lima; United States of America-OHIO-Warren County-Lebanon; United States of America-OHIO-Fairfield County-Lancaster Compensation: Negotiable Schedule: Full-time Classified Indicator: Unclassified Union: Exempt from Union Primary Job Skill: Medical Technical Skills: Basic Medical Procedures, Medical Charting, Medication Management, Corrections, Medical Professional Skills: Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Interpreting Data, Teamwork, Time Management Agency Overview Who We Are: Guided by a single mission To reduce recidivism among those we touch, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction believes that everyone is capable of positive change.
