Commercial Construction Project Manager

Location: Atlanta, GA | Smyrna
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent, Direct Hire
Salary: $100,000–$130,000, based on experience

The Opportunity

An established and growing commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Atlanta team. The company delivers a diverse portfolio of projects across healthcare, corporate office, higher education, commercial interiors, and specialty construction, with a strong emphasis on quality, collaboration, and long-term client relationships.

This role is ideal for a Project Manager who can take ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout while effectively managing clients, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and internal project teams.

Healthcare construction is an important area of focus for the organization, so experience with hospitals, medical facilities, occupied healthcare environments, or other complex commercial projects is particularly valuable.

What You’ll Do

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction and mobilization through completion and closeout.
• Develop, maintain, and manage project budgets, schedules, cost controls, and financial reporting.
• Partner closely with Superintendents to coordinate field operations and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, contracts, scopes of work, and performance.
• Review and oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation.
• Lead communication with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
• Identify project risks and proactively address issues that could affect cost, schedule, quality, or client expectations.
• Lead project meetings, including preconstruction, owner, subcontractor, and progress meetings.
• Monitor project performance and maintain accurate forecasting and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support quality control, safety, and compliance with contract documents and project requirements.
• Build and maintain strong client and trade partner relationships throughout each project.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Experience managing projects for a commercial general contractor is strongly preferred.
• Background in healthcare, corporate office, higher education, commercial interiors, or other complex commercial construction is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, contracts, budgets, and schedules.
• Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors, project financials, documentation, and client relationships.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
• Experience with Procore, or similar construction management platforms is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to both project details and overall performance.
