Title: Controls Engineer
Location : Libertyville, IL

Job Summary

• Lead controls engineering activities for high-volume medical device manufacturing equipment.
• Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, motion control, vision, and industrial automation systems.
• Lead equipment specification, installation, FAT/SAT, validation, and commissioning activities.
• Improve equipment safety, reliability, quality, and production performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop controls specifications and oversee OEM electrical/controls design and machine builds.
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, and servo drives.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Support software changes, preventive maintenance, validation, and technical training .

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of controls engineering experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and industrial automation systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Medical device manufacturing experience.
• Experience with Cognex, Keyence, or Fanuc vision systems.
• Experience with Beckhoff or B&R (ABB) PLCs.
• Knowledge of MES, RFID, industrial networking, and equipment validation.
