We are seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead the Element Chandler Fashion Center , a Marriott extended-stay hotel located in one of Arizona's most dynamic business and leisure markets.

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, financial results, guest satisfaction, associate engagement, and physical condition of the hotel. This position requires a highly visible leader who can balance strategic business planning with day-to-day operational execution while maintaining Marriott brand standards and Janus Hotels & Resorts expectations.

The ideal candidate is an energetic and results-oriented hospitality leader with proven success driving RevPAR growth, guest satisfaction, associate engagement, market share performance, and asset condition while operating within Marriott brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Provide day-to-day leadership for all hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest service and operational excellence.
• Maintain full compliance with Marriott brand standards, quality assurance requirements, and Janus operating procedures.
• Establish a culture of accountability, guest focus, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure the hotel consistently delivers a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment.
• Conduct regular property inspections and take immediate action to address operational deficiencies.

Financial Performance

• Responsible for achieving revenue, profitability, guest satisfaction goals, and overall hotel performance.
• Develop and manage annual operating budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
• Monitor labor productivity and departmental expenses to maximize flow-through and profitability.
• Analyze financial statements, STR reports, labor reports, and market trends to drive informed business decisions.
• Partner with revenue management to optimize ADR, occupancy, RevPAR, and market share performance.

Sales & Revenue Leadership

• Work closely with the sales team to grow corporate, project, extended-stay, and local business opportunities.
• Maintain strong relationships with key accounts, local businesses, Marriott channels, and community organizations.
• Participate in weekly sales strategy and revenue management meetings.
• Identify opportunities to increase guest retention, Marriott Bonvoy participation, and market penetration.

Associate Leadership & Development

• Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing hotel team.
• Foster a positive culture that promotes engagement, accountability, and career growth.
• Conduct regular performance discussions and provide ongoing feedback.
• Ensure staffing levels align with business demand and service expectations.

Guest Experience

• Champion a guest-first culture that consistently exceeds expectations.
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores, online reputation platforms, and Marriott measurement tools.
• Respond to guest concerns promptly and effectively.
• Maintain visible leadership presence throughout the hotel and lead by example.

Asset Management & Compliance

• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and capital improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all Marriott, company, state, federal, and local regulations.
• Maintain life-safety systems, security standards, and risk management programs.
• Protect ownership's investment through proactive facility management and cost control.

Ownership & Corporate Partnership

• Provide timely and accurate communication regarding hotel performance, operational challenges, and opportunities.
• Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.
• Execute strategic initiatives established by ownership and corporate leadership.
• Develop action plans to improve financial, operational, and guest service results.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Hotel General Manager.
• Marriott experience strongly preferred.
• Extended-stay hotel experience preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading hotel operations, financial performance, and team development.
• Strong knowledge of P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, labor controls, and revenue management.
• Experience with Marriott systems including MGS, GXP, M-Dash, MRDW, and related brand platforms preferred.
• Proven ability to drive guest satisfaction, associate engagement, and market share growth.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and respond to operational needs as required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 annually, based on experience
