Please see below the details of this career opportunity and how it fits into our organization’s success.Summary of the Job:The Fraud leader at FNBO is a senior leadership position with divisional-wide responsibility related to comprehensive fraud prevention, detection, and resolution operations. This role oversees an organization of 250+ employees across multiple critical functions including strategy, rule writing, investigations, fraud and disputes call center operations, high-risk account management, and product ownership for authorization and fraud detection systems. This position leads 5-6 Director level positions who oversee their respective teams and operational areas to prevent 1st and 3rd party fraud within the various Card portfolios, including Visa and MasterCard consumer credit, debit, small business and commercial card, as well as consumer loan fraud and investigative research. The person will manage a $20MM+ annual budget and significant loss reduction impacts.About This Role:Strategic Leadership & Organizational ManagementDevelop and execute enterprise fraud prevention strategy aligned with business objectivesPresent fraud trends, strategies, and performance to executive leadership, enterprise stakeholders, and board committeesEstablish fraud risk appetite in collaboration with Executives, Senior Leadership, CRO, CCO, CIO, and Information SecurityLead and develop a team of 5-6 Directors overseeing 250+ employees, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvementDrive talent development, succession planning, and organizational design to optimize efficiency and effectivenessManage multimillion-dollar departmental operating budget, justify investments, and evaluate ROI on fraud prevention tools and technologiesTrack fraud losses and fraud prevention savings to demonstrate value and inform strategic decisionsFraud Operations & ExecutionRule Writing & Detection StrategyOversee development and optimization of sophisticated fraud detection rules, processes, and procedures across portfolios and transactional channelsEnsure detection strategies balance fraud prevention with customer experienceMonitor industry trends and incorporate best practices into detection strategiesEstablish governance frameworks for rule management, testing, and performance monitoringInvestigations ManagementProvide executive oversight of fraud investigation operations, workflows, and resource allocationReview complex, high-dollar, or sensitive fraud cases for unsecured consumer loansCoordinate with Corporate Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Law Enforcement on major casesEnsure regulatory compliance with dispute resolution timeframes and requirementsDrive process improvements to reduce cycle time, improve accuracy, and enhance investigative outcomesFraud & Disputes Call Center OperationsOversee inbound and outbound call center operations handling fraud alerts, customer disputes, and resolution activitiesSet performance standards, service levels, and quality metricsImplement workforce management strategies to optimize staffing and efficiencyDrive customer satisfaction initiatives while maintaining fraud prevention effectivenessThird-Party Fraud ManagementDevelop comprehensive strategies to identify and mitigate third-party fraud (identity theft, account takeover, synthetic identity, card not present)Establish risk assessment frameworks and early warning indicatorsDrive industry collaboration through participation in fraud consortiums and working groupsTrack and report on fraud trends, losses, and mitigation effectivenessTechnology & InnovationManage complex fraud and disputes detection and case management platforms which include customer authentication and validation, channel intake and dispute processingServe as executive product owner for authorization and fraud detection systemsDefine long-term system strategy and technology roadmap in partnership with IT leadershipPartner with analytics teams to leverage advanced technologies including machine learning, AI, and predictive modelingOversee vendor relationships for fraud technology platforms and manage third-party partnershipsDrive digital transformation initiatives to enhance fraud prevention capabilities and operational scalabilityLead innovation in fraud detection and prevention methodologies to stay ahead of emerging threatsGood understanding of Machine Learning and AI concepts is a plusThe Ideal Candidate for This Role:Required Experience10+ years of progressive experience in financial services and fraud management for Credit and Debit Card products.7+ years in a Leadership role with at least 3+ years managementProven track record managing large, multi-functional teamsKnowledge in fraud detection technologies, methodologies, and industry trendsKnowledge of authorization systems and fraud platformsStrong background in regulatory compliance related to fraud and disputesGeneral Knowledge of card payment networks and their standardsProficient in data analytics and business intelligence methodsLeadership CompetenciesExecutive-level strategic planning and executionLarge-scale organizational management and developmentManaging through multiple layers of leadershipExecutive communication and presentation skillsBudget management for large operational departmentsTalent development and succession planningChange management and organizational transformationCrisis management and decision-making under pressureCandidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.Work Environment:It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work onsite at the posted location.
