Position Summary

The Admissions Director is responsible for driving occupancy growth by building strong referral relationships, generating new business opportunities, and managing the admissions process from referral to move-in. This role serves as the primary liaison between the community and referral partners while providing exceptional customer service to prospective residents and their families.

The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional with healthcare experience who enjoys networking, developing partnerships, and achieving census goals.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Marketing

• Develop and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, rehabilitation centers, home health agencies, hospice providers, and other healthcare professionals.

• Conduct regular sales calls, networking visits, and community outreach to generate qualified referrals.

• Represent the organization at healthcare events, community functions, and professional meetings.

• Create and implement marketing strategies that increase occupancy and strengthen the organization's reputation.

• Track referral activity, conversion rates, and census trends to identify growth opportunities.

Admissions

• Manage the admissions process from initial inquiry through resident move-in.

• Review referrals to ensure they meet clinical, financial, and operational criteria.

• Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth and timely admissions.

• Provide tours and educate prospective residents and families about available services.

• Maintain accurate admission records and required documentation.

Customer Service

• Deliver a positive and responsive experience for residents, families, and referral partners.

• Respond promptly to inquiries and maintain regular communication throughout the admissions process.

• Build trust through professionalism, follow-through, and relationship management.

Compliance

• Ensure all admissions comply with federal, state, and organizational requirements.

• Maintain confidentiality and protect resident information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

• Participate in quality improvement and regulatory survey activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.

• Two or more years of experience in healthcare admissions, sales, marketing, business development, or census management.

• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, long-term care, or home health preferred.

• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record or CRM systems.
