ERTS Weekend Operations Manager- Night Shift

Clean Harbors in Norwell, MA or Jacksonville, FL is seeking an ERTS (Emergency Response and Training Solutions) Operations Manager responsible for providing the full range of management and supervision required for the successful performance and completion of projects. Provide positive leadership. Monitor and track employee attendance and performance. Complete disciplinary actions when required. Enforce all company safety policies and procedures. Identify and develop key talent and manage underperformers to ensure success of all individuals in the department. Communicate the company's goals and objectives to employees. Manage workload within operations. Make operational adjustments as needed. Review and approve SDS for call‑center staff for incidentals and reporting. Complete regulatory reporting on shift. Provide day‑to‑day environmental support to open projects, ensuring compliance with environmental policies, requirements, and procedures. Serve as a technical supervisor on matters relating to environmental spills. Oversee projects assigned to project specialists, including all phases of spill response and work directly with clients to ensure a timely, successful spill cleanup and regulatory compliance with cost‑effectiveness in mind. Account for project managers working within detailed scope‑of‑work to maintain strict compliance with contract documents, schedules, and corporate policies. Oversee field contractors to determine sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil. Accurately log client interaction information into ALERT systems and update promptly. Dispatch contractors for excavation, transportation, and disposal of products. Provide employee training and development. Maintain excellent customer service and satisfaction. Perform QA/QC on all ongoing projects. Initiate and post alerts in the system. Ensure SOPs and client special instructions are performed and compliant. Communicate effectively to contractors, clients, regulatory officials, etc., through written and verbal communication. Return internal and external calls, emails, and facsimiles timely to resolve customers' concerns efficiently. Maintain professional competency in all aspects of the job. May serve on the emergency operations center as assigned. Perform other job‑related duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Waste Management, Health, Safety, Emergency Management, or a related field, or equivalent training, education, and experience. Minimum four years of previous management or supervisory experience in transportation, logistics, or the waste industry. Direct hazardous material response experience required. Conceptual and practical knowledge of groundwater and soil sampling. Working knowledge or ability to develop knowledge of OSHA, RCRA, and DOT regulations. Strong time‑management skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects. Team‑player who accomplishes common goals within the department. Data entry, excellent written and verbal communication. Must be capable of working 12‑hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to handle high call volume in a fast‑paced, emergency response environment. Remain calm and confident during stressful situations. Adaptability to changing environments. Effective communication with clients, employees, and outside professionals. Ability to orchestrate large volumes of data while meeting critical deadlines.
