Requirements

High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required

Certified Surgery Technician (CST) certification or Tech in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) certification: Required

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor: Required

Open heart experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred

Experience in general OR cases (robotic, ortho, urology, gyn): Preferred

Ability to take call 50% of the time

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist the surgical team in the preparation and setup of surgical procedures in the operating room.

Prepare surgical cases by maintaining a sterile field and passing instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during procedures.

Perform instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts in collaboration with the Registered Nurse (RN).

Clean and maintain surgical equipment and facilities as needed.

Transport patients according to unit schedules and assist with clerical duties as required.

Label solutions and adhere to aseptic techniques throughout the surgical process.
