Lecturer in Nutrition

Lecturer in Nutrition (Part-Time) The School of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering invites part‑time faculty candidates for the position of Lecturer in Nutrition. This role involves teaching courses in Nutrition and Human Performance, upholding the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission, and participating in assigned teaching and professional activities. Essential Functions Prepare course outlines and deliver consistent, interactive lectures based on approved departmental syllabi. Prepare and administer timely, meaningful assessments for assigned courses. Collaborate with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met. Make yourself available outside of class to help students learn and address their questions (approximately 1 hour per 3‑hour class). Adhere to the UIW Faculty Handbook policies and procedures, including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable student evaluation, and timely feedback to students. Maintain respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom. Stay in contact with the department chair and attend meetings as requested. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Deliver instruction in multiple modes, including online. Incorporate technology into teaching. Teach day, evening, and weekend sections as needed. Work collaboratively with department faculty to meet curriculum outcomes. Possess excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills. Utilize and teach diet assessment software. Work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA. Required Education Master’s Degree in Nutrition or a Master’s Degree in a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in nutrition. Required Work Experience Experience teaching food and nutrition courses at the collegiate level. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate Degree in Nutrition or Food Science. Experience with online learning platforms. Professional experience in the field of nutrition. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations None specified. Work Hours Based on course assignment. Physical Demands Typical for faculty in this field. Salary $2,900 – $3,500 per 3‑hour course, commensurate with experience.
