Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - School-Based in San Jose, CA| 2026-2027 School Year

Location: Multiple School Sites (Elementary, Middle & High School)

Start Date: August 24, 2026

Schedule: 32.5 Hours per Week

Contract Length: 180 School Days

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students across multiple school sites. The SLP will be responsible for conducting speech and language evaluations, developing treatment plans, providing direct therapy services, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with student IEPs and established plans of care.

This position requires a clinician who is comfortable working independently, conducting evaluations, and providing in-person therapy services. Spanish-speaking candidates are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings and student needs.

• Provide direct speech-language therapy services in accordance with IEP goals and district requirements.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.

• Monitor student progress and adjust treatment strategies as appropriate.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and professional standards of practice.

• Travel between assigned school sites as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License in the state of assignment.

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology ( CCC-SLP ) preferred and may be required by state or contract.

• Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.

• Current CPR certification, if applicable.

• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable.

• Current health certificate, as required by contract or state regulations.

• Meets all federal, state, and local employment requirements.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual/Spanish-speaking skills strongly preferred.

• Experience working in school-based settings.

• Ability to independently perform speech and language evaluations.

• Ability to provide and maintain personal evaluation materials and assessment tools.

Compensation

Local Candidate

• Pay Rate: Up to $85/hour

Traveler Candidate

• Pay Rate: Up to $47/hour

• Tax-free stipends may be available for qualified travelers.
