Job Description:

Shifts Available: 7a Days, 3p Mids and 7p Nights

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Perform and document accurate initial and ongoing assessments to evaluate patient conditions and needs.

\n
• \n

  Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to address identified patient needs and goals.

\n
• \n

  Administer medications accurately and appropriately as ordered, monitoring patient responses and adjusting interventions as necessary.

\n
• \n

  Supervise and guide nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

\n
• \n

  Provide patient and family education about the care plan, medications, procedures, and other relevant information to ensure understanding and compliance.

\n
• \n

  Assist physicians with bedside procedures and prepare patients for tests, procedures, and surgeries.

\n
• \n

  Monitor patient lab work for trends and report abnormal results for necessary actions.

\n
• \n

  Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.

\n
• \n

  Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to policies, procedures, and infection control protocols.

\n
• \n

  Document all pertinent patient care information accurately and timely in the patient's medical record.

\n
• \n

  Participate in quality improvement and research activities by engaging in unit-based initiatives and evidence-based practice projects.

\n
• \n

  Respond effectively to emergencies by providing necessary interventions and coordinating with the healthcare team to stabilize patients.

\n
• \n

  Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

\n

\n
• \n

  Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes. [Required]

\n
• \n

  Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows-based programs. [Required]

\n
• \n

  Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills). [Required]

\n
• \n

  Equipment use to stabilize and monitor patients (IV insertion, central lines, pulse ox, NG tubes, Foley, chest tubes, hemodynamics monitoring), including electronic medical record and automated dispensing medication system (pyxis). [Required]

\n
• \n

  Proficient clinical skills, critical thinking skills, and strong communication skills. [Required]

\n
• \n

  Commitment to hourly patient rounding and EKG interpretation class. [Required]

\n
• \n

  Frequent independent judgment, sound professional judgment and critical-thinking skills in clinical situations, including clinical assessment, data, and patient response. [Required]

\n
• \n

  Ability to continuously prioritize multiple duties and function in a calm and professional manner during stressful situations. [Required]

• \n

  General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, and the pharmacological process in the appropriate administration or delivery of medications. [Required]

Education:

  Associate's of Nursing [Required]

\n
• \n

  Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

  1+ years ED hospital experience [Preferred]
