Consumer Transaction Monitoring Investigator

What You Will Do Perform AML alert/case reviews and mitigate risks associated with financial crimes and suspicious activity. Apply research and analytical techniques to digest complex information sets, ensuring logical and well‑supported determinations regarding unusual and potentially suspicious activity. Contribute to daily Transaction Monitoring efforts, including end‑to‑end reviews of potential illegal or suspicious activity. Conduct time‑sensitive and thorough analyses of each instance of potential Anti‑Money Laundering activity across multiple jurisdictions and countries. Assess customer profiles and client data to determine consistency with typical activity, including adherence to Acceptable Use Policy and Know Your Customer efforts. Document findings in a narrative style within the manual and automated case management system, and prepare updates for Project Managers or Team Leads as appropriate. Make determinations for potential Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) filings. What You Will Need 5 days in office requirement. Bachelor’s degree and minimum 0 years of relevant experience in Transaction Monitoring (experience may substitute for formal education). Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., BSA, OFAC, FinCEN guidance). Experience reviewing manual and system‑generated alerts/cases for potential suspicious activity. Ability to assess risks and identify deviations. Knowledge of reporting requirements related to suspicious activity reports and transaction activity. Ability to detect and mitigate red flags for potential financial crime, including money laundering, terrorism financing activities, and fraud. Solid Excel skills. Nice to Have 2+ years of experience assessing and reviewing system‑generated and manual AML alerts and/or escalations/SAR write‑ups for potentially suspicious activity. CAMS or ICA certification. Experience with OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) techniques. End‑to‑end understanding of Transaction Monitoring / KYC / Screening / Fraud Operations / Jurisdiction‑specific SAR filing / Narrative from documentary and non‑documentary verification. Ability to conduct detailed investigations using vendors and open sources to remediate compliance alerts and to independently research, analyze, and recommend solutions to close open items and discrepancies.
