Work Environment

Your role will be conducted in a dynamic outpatient orthopedic setting, where you will interact daily with a diverse range of patients—ranging from athletes recovering from sports-related injuries to individuals seeking rehabilitation after surgery. Our facility maintains a vibrant and encouraging ambiance, fostering not only patient recovery but also professional development for our staff. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in developing and carrying out individualized treatment plans based on the unique needs of each patient.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, facilitating their progress towards regaining strength and mobility.
• Administer various treatment modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
• Continually monitor and document patient progress within our electronic health record (EHR) system, quickly communicating updates to supervising Physical Therapists.
• Educate patients regarding their home exercise programs, emphasizing best practices for injury prevention and recovery enhancement.
• Uphold compliance with all HIPAA standards while maintaining precise clinical documentation to ensure patient privacy and care integrity.
• Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare providers to contribute to a coordinated and holistic approach to patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this position, you will primarily work with patients recuperating from a variety of orthopedic conditions, including fractures, sprains, post-operative rehabilitation, and chronic pain syndromes. Our clientele includes active individuals of all ages, from young athletes to elderly patients, each requiring a tailored approach to their therapy that aligns with their specific recovery goals.

Qualifications

• A current, active PTA license in California.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working in outpatient orthopedic settings is required, ensuring you are familiar with the day-to-day workflows and patient care challenges.
• Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and effective patient education methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills, with a focus on providing compassionate and attentive care to every patient.
