Sr Loads and Dynamics Analyst - Lunar Permanence

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. Blue Origin is hiring an external loads analyst to help design and analyze the Transfer Stage spacecraft. This role will involve loads development (both quasi-static and dynamic), loads integration with other spacecraft and rockets, and supporting subsystem teams with static and dynamic loads environments. This is a high-impact role where your loads expertise directly supports humanity's return to the Moon.

Responsibilities

• Finite Element Model development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests
• Rigid and flexible body dynamics Modeling, simulation, and verification of spacecraft launch, docking, and landing events
• Acceleration, shock, and vibration measurement and data interpretation of ground and flight tests
• General loads development for spacecraft and related ground systems
• Support configuration development and trade studies

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering
• 6+ years of experience in the prediction/validation of low and/or high frequency structural dynamics and loads, in addition to finite element modeling
• Solid foundation of structural static/dynamic fundamentals
• Passion for spacecraft structural/environmental loads development/validation
• Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools)
• Experience with spacecraft loads development, including Craig Bampton model reduction and coupled loads analyses with other rockets / spacecraft

Desired

• Hyperworks, NASTRAN, Ansys, and Matlab proficiency
• High and low frequency environment prediction skills related to spacecraft and launch vehicles

Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20
