Shipping Clerk

The Shipping Clerk performs a wide range of packing, shipping, and receiving activities to ensure that products and materials move accurately and efficiently through the warehouse. This role processes inbound and outbound shipments, prepares documentation, maintains inventory accuracy, and supports daily transportation scheduling while following established procedures and commercial standards.

• Process all inbound and outbound shipments, including sorting, logging, delivering, packing, auditing, and shipping materials and products.
• Audit each shipment prior to packing to verify that all goods match the customer order and documentation.
• Pack and label products according to established standards and shipping requirements.
• Ensure that all required equipment, manuals, and accessories are included with each shipment and match the correct order.
• Prepare shipping and receiving documentation and maintain organized, accurate files for all records.
• Participate in scheduling daily transportation to support on-time delivery and pickup.
• Process all receiving transactions and associated paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist with maintaining accurate material inventory levels through proper handling and documentation.
• Support efforts to trace and resolve missing or delayed shipments by providing shipment information and documentation.
• Help maintain safety and housekeeping standards in the shipping and warehouse areas.
• Perform required administrative tasks, including preparing reports and correspondence related to shipping and receiving activities.
• Work overtime as needed, including potential daily overtime and occasional Saturdays, to meet operational needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support overall warehouse and shipping operations.

• One to two years of related shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with standard shipping practices, carrier requirements, and material handling methods.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage daily tasks independently.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Versatility and flexibility, with a willingness to work within changing priorities and demands.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Outlook and Word.
• Ability to type approximately 40 words per minute.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Comfort working on your feet throughout the shift in a warehouse environment.
• Past warehouse experience in a material handling or clerk capacity.
• Forklift experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across departments.

• Experience using RF scanners in a warehouse or shipping environment.
• Broad computer experience beyond basic applications is beneficial.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence and high standards of performance.
• Enthusiastic approach to handling changing priorities and workload.
• General experience in material handling and warehouse operations.

This role is based in a clean, well-lit, temperature-controlled manufacturing and warehouse environment. The facility includes assembly areas where oils are present and certain zones where materials are densely packed, requiring awareness of safe material handling practices. The position is located at one of two nearby facilities in Lincolnshire, with both sites operating similar manufacturing and shipping operations. The work involves standing and walking for most of the shift, handling materials, operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, and using computers and related systems to process shipments and inventory. Shifts run Monday through Friday, with an early shift typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and an evening shift typically from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and both may require daily overtime and occasional Saturday work depending on business needs. Attire is typical for a manufacturing and warehouse setting, with an emphasis on safety and practicality.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincolnshire, IL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
