The ideal candidate will be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with demonstrated experience conducting and leading financial audits—particularly within healthcare delivery systems and government-funded programs. This role plays a key part in advancing financial stewardship and supporting federal and state partners in ensuring proper use of Medicaid funding. Key Responsibilities Lead and conduct complex financial audits related to Medicaid and CHIP, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements. Evaluate financial management practices, internal controls, and payment integrity across Medicaid programs. Analyze large-scale financial datasets to identify trends, risks, improper payments, and opportunities for improved financial performance. Prepare detailed audit reports including findings, recommendations, and corrective action guidance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, program integrity groups, and state/federal stakeholders to support strategic financial oversight initiatives. Support proactive, high-quality financial management activities aligned with CMS oversight priorities. Ensure audit activities are aligned with best practices in federal program stewardship and financial integrity. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential At least 10 years experience conducting and leading financial audits, ideally within Medicaid or CHIP programs Strong knowledge of healthcare finance, government reimbursement models, and Medicaid managed care or fee‑for‑service structures. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial systems, assess compliance, and identify improper payments or process vulnerabilities. Exceptional communication skills—able to synthesize technical audit findings into actionable, executive-level reporting. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting CMS program integrity, financial oversight, or OIG/GAO-style audits. Familiarity with Medicaid UPL, DSH payments, and MACFIN or similar CMS data sources. Salary Range: $140,250 - $189,750 (range may vary by experience, location, and contractual requirements) Benefits: 401(k) with company match, health, dental, and vision plans (some with Health Savings Accounts), paid time off including vacation, sick, personal, holidays, paid parental, military, bereavement, and jury duty leave.
