Schedule: 24-Hour Beeper Call
Regular Pay: $2,500 per 24-hour call day
Holiday Pay: $3,750 per 24-hour call day on recognized holidays
Callback: First 2 hours included; additional callback paid separately
Additional Callback Pay: $400/hour regular / $600/hour holiday
Setting: Inpatient
Trauma Level: Level IV
EMR: MediTech
Response Time: 30 minutes

HPA Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon for ongoing locum tenens coverage in Hazard, Kentucky.

This is 24-hour beeper call with a 30-minute response requirement . The facility reports approximately 10 phone consultations and 10 patients seen per 24-hour call period , with an estimated 20% callback rate .

The surgeon should be comfortable with a broad General Surgery scope, including emergency surgery, trauma, bowel resections, perforations, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, abscesses, wound care and endoscopic procedures.

Candidates must be Board Certified in General Surgery , hold an active Kentucky license or qualify through IMLC, and maintain current ACLS and BLS. Credentialing is approximately 30 days, with temporary privileges available.
