Machine Tech

We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to set up, program, and operate CNC and manual press brakes to form and bend sheet metal components. You will read engineering blueprints, select appropriate tooling, and inspect finished parts to ensure complete accuracy and alignment with quality standards.

salary: $18 - $19 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 6 AM - 6 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Select, install, and align correct punches, dies, and tooling according to material thickness and bend requirements.

• Perform test bends and adjust backgauges, ram strokes, and pressure settings to compensate for metal springback.

• Program or adjust CNC press brake parameters (bend angles, sequence, flange dimensions) using blueprints or CAD/CAM files.

• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to confirm tolerances (often within fine decimal tolerances).

• Inspect initial "first-off" parts and perform spot checks using precision tools like calipers, micrometers, protractors, and height gauges.

• Identify surface defects, cracking, or dimensional deviations and make on-the-fly corrections.

The essential functions of this role include:
