Production Associate (Cylinder Filler) Location: Cheektowaga, NY - Filling industrial Recruiter: Shannan Phillips | View email address on click.appcast.io | View phone number on click.appcast.io The Cylinder Filler will be responsible for safely handling and filling gas products into liquid, medical and high‑pressure gas cylinders in compliance with federal, state and local regulations, and meeting the standard operating procedures of Airgas. Responsibilities Review and ensure cylinders prior to filling, following established guidelines to meet government, Airgas and distributor standards. Conduct safety checks such as odor tests, and verify caps and valves. Analyze products for purity and correct mixtures. Handle high‑pressure, medical and liquid cylinders. Prepare high‑pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling. Attach to manifold, evacuate cylinders to ensure excellent quality and purity. Fill cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards. Assist with loading and unloading cylinders on and off pallets and tractor trailers. Operate forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment. Maintain accurate records to DOT, FDA, OSHA and Airgas standards. Complete quality control sheets as required. Be knowledgeable of hazards of various gases, read and interpret cylinder labels and color‑coding. Support accurate labeling of cylinders. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school degree or GED required. Mechanical aptitude. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system preferred. Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent. Strong commitment to Airgas safety programs, OSHA and all related rules, regulations, procedures applicable to this position. A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience. In lieu of specific industry experience, may accept an equivalent combination of education and experience.
