Job Description
A Surgery Manager who excels in this role:
The Surgery Manager role oversees multiple departments, providing strategic direction, managing subordinate leaders, and establishing long-term goals. The position requires strong independent judgment, discretion, and adaptability when handling complex decisions, confidential information, and non-routine matters. The role works closely with senior leadership, healthcare professionals, and external vendors and may function as a staff-level RN when needed to support clinical operations.
- Oversees daily Surgical Services operations and quality of patient care.
- Manages department budgets, resources, supplies, and equipment.
- Leads performance improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
- Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, leadership, and other departments.
- Ensures compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and confidentiality. Must-Have Requirements
- Current Alabama State Board Of Nursing license, BLS required; ACLS/PALS as applicable
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in which management skills have been demonstrated
- Requires 2-3 years of surgery experience
- Must be able to relocate to Muscle Shoals, Alabama within 30 days
