Outside Sales Representative

Our client is seeking a driven Outside Sales Representative to take ownership of a large, established field territory spanning four states. This is an opportunity for a true territory builder who enjoys being in front of customers, opening new doors, and turning strong relationships into long-term growth. With the autonomy to manage the territory from the field, support from cross-functional partners, and a company-provided sales vehicle for customer travel, this role combines independence with the resources of an established organization. The client is looking for someone who can hunt for new business while becoming a trusted partner to existing accounts. This Role Offers: High-visibility ownership of a significant multi-state sales territory with substantial autonomy over day-to-day priorities. A company-provided sales vehicle to support extensive customer travel throughout the assigned market. A balanced opportunity to win new business while developing and expanding established customer relationships. Strong cross-functional support and regular exposure to customer decision-makers, creating opportunities to build strategic account leadership skills. Focus: Develop and execute a territory strategy that balances proactive new-business prospecting with retention and expansion of existing accounts. Spend significant time in the field across a four-state territory, independently organizing customer visits, prospecting activity, and travel. Generate opportunities through outbound prospecting, referrals, networking, market research, and face-to-face customer engagement. Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders by understanding their priorities and connecting them with appropriate solutions. Expand existing accounts by uncovering additional needs, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and identifying new opportunities. Present to customer leadership and develop into ownership of annual or biannual business reviews for key accounts. Coordinate internal resources across sales, service, operations, and other functions to solve customer needs and advance opportunities without direct reporting authority. Maintain strong CRM discipline, monitor territory performance and competitive activity, and adjust sales strategies based on market conditions. Skill Set: Demonstrated outside sales or business development experience, ideally involving ownership of a sizable geographic territory. Strong hunter mentality with the initiative and persistence to prospect consistently and develop net-new business. Proven customer relationship and account management skills, including the ability to retain and grow existing business. Strong communication and presentation abilities with the confidence to engage customer leadership and eventually lead formal business reviews. Comfortable with extensive driving and independently managing priorities across a geographically large four-state territory. Self-directed and effective in a remote field environment, with the ability to influence and coordinate colleagues across departments without direct reports. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, along with comfort using CRM and sales reporting tools. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
