Job Purpose

The Housekeeping Supervisor supervises housekeeping team members and performs housekeeping duties throughout the community in accordance with established guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Implements weekly housekeeping schedules.
• Inspects apartments for proper cleanliness and ensures they are ready prior to occupancy.
• Monitors inventory of housekeeping supplies.
• Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout assigned property.
• Cleans resident apartment, including but not limited to, vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens and living areas, emptying trash, making beds and linen service where applicable.
• Cleans common areas, including but not limited to public restrooms, halls, landings, restaurants, stairs, activities areas, lobbies, elevators, model rooms, patio, and grounds area.
• Uses cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies.
• May provide personal laundry service as needed.
• Removes linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets.
• Places and neatly tucks clean sheets and blankets on beds and replaces pillowcases.
• Stocks towels, washcloths, and hand towels in bathrooms.
• Picks up and empties trash containers.
• Loads washers and dryers and folds sheets and towels in laundry room as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A minimum 2 years’ supervisor experience.
• A minimum of one to three years’ housekeeping experience. Prior experience in a senior living community is a plus.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team,
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a variety of personalities.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents, tenants, and/or guests.
• Sufficient ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously.

Working Conditions

The Housekeeping Supervisor works primarily indoors. The Housekeeping Supervisor works within the Senior Living Community, where there may be possible exposure to communicable diseases and infection, exposure to latex, possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens, possible exposure to various chemical, infectious, or biological hazards, and possible exposure to pets.
