About the Role:

The Spot Cafe LLC in Saint Augustine, FL is looking for a passionate and driven Working Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen team! This is a hands-on role where you'll be right in the action — cooking, leading, and keeping things running smoothly. Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily kitchen operations while actively working the line alongside staff
• Manage food prep, cooking, and plating to ensure consistent quality and presentation
• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff
• Monitor food inventory, place orders, and manage food costs and waste
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health code standards
• Collaborate with ownership to develop and update menu items
• Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs or maintenance as needed

Requirements:

• 2+ years of kitchen management or lead cook experience in a cafe, restaurant, or food service setting
• Strong hands-on cooking skills with the ability to work all kitchen stations
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a kitchen team
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
• Experience with inventory management, ordering, and cost control
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
