Construction Project Manager

Description This role supports a large-scale Meta data center portfolio. The Construction Manager will assist an experienced on-site CM team by handling tactical, detail-oriented responsibilities across both retrofit work and new construction. Upcoming Work Retrofit scopes to reduce workload from senior CMs New builds launching in July, including: 3 new data center buildings Admin building Warehouse building Approx. 200 MW of additional capacity Focus of the Role Day-to-day construction execution Schedule review and analysis Driving issues to resolution Supporting cross-functional partners on-site Ideal candidates are junior to mid-level CMs who thrive in execution-focused environments and are comfortable operating under senior leadership. Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for managing the onsite construction, commissioning, and turnover of Data Center projects Support the Lead CM as needed including contractor, designer, and vendor management Ownership of the construction scope, including retrofits of existing data halls and build outs of new spaces within the leased portfolio across North America Provides project coordination between Contractors, Consultants and Cross Functional Partners Provide construction leadership at the site by developing and maintaining strong relationships with our cross functional partners, consultants, vendors and contractors Identify, define, and gain cross functional alignment around opportunities to drive efficiency through innovation, process, and accountability Provide project planning and scoping by working with cross functional partners and internal customers to identify, sequence and package work scopes for execution Aid in the creation and maintenance of project schedules with support from Project Controls and Scheduling Manage the cost change process and negotiate best pricing in partnership with cross functional / matrixed team members in cost and schedule Manage the schedule and associated risks to ensure reliable and predictable turnover dates. Reporting upward on opportunities, risks, and mitigations to ensure predictable delivery of capacity Responsible for monthly WIP walks to validate work in place for invoicing and regular site walks amongst Contractors, consultants and cross functional partners to track progress and confirm handover conditions are met Manage relationships with the contractor, and designer Assist with developing capital project budgets and provide ROM construction cost estimates Manage monthly CapEx forecasting for all project related costs Provide analysis and action plan based on weekly project status report (financial, schedule, Q/C) Manage Method of Procedures (MOPs) for any retrofit/remedy work in live data center Facilitates interaction between Contractor, Meta and 3rd party QA/QC teams Responsible for Project Closeout Escalates key issues quickly to Construction Manager Promote and model an attitude of continuous improvement, partnership, and teamwork in behaviors and communications Support and lead an industry leading safety culture and program Skills Project management, Construction management, mission critical, Data center construction Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree and/or minimum of 7-10 years professional experience in any combination of construction, operations, maintenance, and project planning 7 - 10 years experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers/critical infrastructure General knowledge of electrical, mechanical and connectivity systems Ability to manage multiple projects at a time in different phases Mission Critical, infrastructure, and/or Data Center Construction Experience Experience in commissioning of retrofit and new data center build outs Knowledge of CPM scheduling practices and familiarity with Primavera P6 software Functional in MS Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.) Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Cedar Valley, UT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $95.00/hr. Benefits are subject to change and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
