Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Information Position serves both internal co‑workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors. Supervisory Responsibilities Manages the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work to ensure quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance, and administering corrective action for staff. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Education Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education Skills and Abilities Business Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and interpret graphs. Moderate Computer Skills: Proficiency in email, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and presentations; ability to create and maintain documents supporting business objectives. Complex Communication: Ability to communicate complex information, interact with management, resolve sensitive issues, and motivate others. Varied Business Problems: Ability to analyze and solve complex problems using knowledge, experience, and established practices.
