About the Role:
Barbarian in Stowe, VT is looking for a friendly and energetic Host to be the first face guests see when they walk through our doors. This is your chance to set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience in one of Vermont's most beloved destinations. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love making people feel welcome, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival, creating a positive first impression
- Manage reservations and waitlists using Resy
- Seat guests efficiently while maintaining proper table rotation for the service team
- Communicate accurate wait times and manage guest expectations during peak hours
- Coordinate with servers and floor managers to ensure smooth seating flow
- Answer phones, take reservations, and respond to general guest inquiries
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand and front-of-house entrance area
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and stay composed in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Friendly, professional, and guest-focused demeanor
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the restaurant
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
