As an Armed Security Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond professionally to security-related concerns. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Thur05:45 PM - 06:00 AM Fri05:45 PM - 06:00 AM Sat05:45 PM - 06:00 AM What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to staff, residents, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out armed security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and reporting requirements. Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas to help deter unauthorized activity. Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorization of persons entering or leaving the location, and maintain awareness of activity within assigned areas. Complete required reports, maintain accurate activity logs, and communicate observations, incidents, and concerns to appropriate personnel. Minimum Requirements: Be at least 21 years of age. An armed guard card or license is preferred. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry-specific security training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
