Duties and Responsibilities (Essential): Receipt, storage, issue, and replenishmentof a variety of supplies Analytical or administrative supportfor supply operations. Work that may span multiple supply specializations (e.g., inventory management, distribution facilities, packaging) when no single series dominates Receiving and inspectingincoming ammunition shipments for accuracy, condition, and compliance with safety and security requirements. Storing and securingammunition in accordance with military safety standards, including segregation, labeling, and access control. Issuing ammunitionto authorized users (e.g., cadets, instructors, training units) in compliance with supply and security protocols. Replenishing stockand maintaining accurate inventory records. Reporting and documentingsupply status, discrepancies, and security incidents. Ensuresafe, secure, and efficient handling of ammunitionfor training and operational readiness. Operate within the Academyssecurity and safety programsfor hazardous materials. Supportlogistical readinessfor cadet training, drills, and events. Perform a variety of routine and special inspections of conventional, improved conventional and non-standard ammunition. Perform quality monitoring of maintenance operations, area inspections, and magazine storage inspections. Assist QASAS during Quantity Distance Surveys and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) preparation and in maintaining a variety of publications, regulations, and files pertaining to work of the unit. Periodic and Special Inspections. Perform periodic storage and special inspections and tests to determine quality, safety, and condition of a wide variety of ammunition, subcomponents, and materials used in the maintenance, modification, and manufacture of ammunition items. Initial Receipt and Receipt Inspections. Inspect incoming material from other installations and vendors for damage in transit, safety, serviceability, and compliance with applicable references (mil-standards, drawings, and other publications). Identify items using appropriate references, documents, item markings and through personal knowledge and experience. Exercise caution in handling of this material due to the unknown condition or stability of the material. Verification Inspection. Perform verification inspections in conjunction with ammunition maintenance or modification operations. Functional Testing. Perform unusual environmental and functional tests of non-standard ammunition and components where no previous tests have been performed and no test procedures have been established for the item. Transportation Related Inspections. Prepare Ammunition Transfer Records for movement of samples into inspection building and return to storage. Assist in assembling specific inspection drawings, technical manuals, military specifications, etc., for items to be inspected and post appropriate SOP, bay limits, and fire symbols. Unpack samples, prepare them for inspection, and repackage them for return to storage. Review SOPs and operations for compliance with Army and Depot regulations. of authorized items. (10%) Magazine Inspections. Inspect storage facilities for proper storage, packaging, warehousing, structural defects, cleanliness, ammunition compatibility, and compliance with Quantity-Distance requirements or applicable explosive safety waivers. Qualifications: Logistics Information Systems experience DST (vetting, distribution, etc.) GCSS AESIP (non-standard equipment management) Forklift 6K and 10K U S Army Certified Overtime and/or weekends may be required. Physical Factors Must be eligible for site access and CAC if position requires. Must be physically capable of performing all aspects of the work. May be required to work overtime to include weekends depending on operational timelines. Works inside and outside, subject to heat, cold and drafty or poor lighted areas. May work on open docks or in storage yards. Required to wear appropriate safety gear when the operation is necessitated. Work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises. Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Occasionally lifts/moves up to 50 pounds.
