Job Description
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (NICU RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13 to 26-week contract position.

Schedule

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00). Weekends required on a variable basis.

Job Description

The NICU RN will provide specialized nursing care for neonates in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This position requires demonstrated expertise in the management of critically ill newborns and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, including anti-seizure medications and antibiotics.
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, and conduct blood draws.
• Provide therapeutic hypothermia for neonates as needed.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and neonatal assessments.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy for ventilator management.
• Support breastfeeding and proper handling of breast milk.
• Educate patients and families about neonatal care and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license required; Compact license must be in hand at submission.
• Minimum two years of pediatric experience, specifically in NICU.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Certifications: BLS and NRP.
• Experience with Epic charting system required.
