Crisis Clinician, Community Crisis ResponseHeritage Behavioral Health Center is hiring a part-time, overnight Crisis Clinician for our Mobile Crisis Response Team. You'll respond in person to children, adults, and families in a mental health or substance use crisis, helping them get safe, stabilized, and connected to care. You'll never respond alone: you're paired with a Recovery Support Specialist, with an on-call Crisis Supervisor just a phone call away.Pay and Schedule: Part-time, 3rd shift (overnight), 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m., up to 3 nights per week. Calls come from 988, 911-to-988 transfers, the HFS CARES Line, and Heritage's crisis line. You'll respond face-to-face, by phone, or virtually, wherever the person is: at home, in an emergency department, or out in the community.You'll work closely with the Crisis Call Center, hospitals, law enforcement, the courts, and community providers to make sure every person receives a timely, coordinated, and compassionate response.What You'll Do:Provide crisis intervention in person for children, adolescents, and adultsFacilitate clinical responses alongside your Recovery Support Specialist partnerComplete clinical assessments, including the I-CAT, substance use screening, and suicide and safety evaluationsProvide de-escalation, safety planning, and brief counseling, and determine the least restrictive appropriate level of careCoordinate with hospitals, emergency services, law enforcement, and community providers to support stabilization and linkage to careConsult with emergency department physicians and on-call prescribers about referrals and outcomesAssist with involuntary admission processes for adults when neededComplete clinical documentation and hand off to Care Coordination for follow-upParticipate in team debriefs and ongoing trainingWhat You'll Bring:Ability to stay calm, flexible, and clear-headed in high-stress, unpredictable situationsSound independent clinical judgment, and knowing when to call for consultationKnowledge of behavioral health diagnoses, including serious mental illness, substance use, and co-occurring disordersUnderstanding of psychiatric and medical services and community resourcesStrong decision-making, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently in the field and as part of a multidisciplinary teamComfort with electronic health records, Microsoft Word, and ExcelQualifications:Required:Mental Health Professional (MHP) qualification under Illinois Rule 140 (for example, a bachelor's degree in human services, social work, psychology, education, or a related field, or 5 years of clinical behavioral health experience)Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insuranceAbility to travel throughout Macon, DeWitt, and Piatt Counties during overnight hoursPreferred:Master's-level Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credential (QMHPs must obtain licensure within 2 years of employment)Experience in crisis servicesFamiliarity with the I-CAT and Illinois Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS)New to crisis work?
