Senior Accountant

Overview LHH has partnered with an international non-profit that is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. The position will focus on accounting related to multiple grant types, core non-profit accounting, and assisting with client management. Location: Reston, VA • Salary: $85,000–$100,000 Responsibilities Responsible for month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statements, and budget variance reports for assigned clients Create and monitor annual budgets Accounts payable and receivable Prepare reconciliations for necessary balance sheet accounts and various other general ledger accounts, as needed. Prepare day-to-day and month-end close entries Grant tracking and reporting process for clients, both restricted and unrestricted Assist with management of outgoing grants including financial due diligence; and recording, tracking, and generating reports for clients Serve as a primary PoC for client financial needs Assist in preparation of clients’ 990 and related tax forms and audits Provide analytical support to Managing Director and Accounting Manager for special client projects (e.g., budgets, budget projections, grant proposals, etc.) Qualifications Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting or Finance 4+ years of non-profit accounting experience Experience with international non-profits a plus Prior public accounting experience a plus Experience with banking cash management systems (QBO, WizeHive, Bill, etc.) Benefits Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan Personal Time Off (PTO) is offered on an accrual basis up to 25 days, 16 Paid Holidays, and 2 days for volunteering.
